Commemorative 10 Shilling coin issued in Ireland in 1966 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising. This Coin when issued was a first in so many ways. Did not feature a Harp - Instead Padraig Pearse (Hero of the Rising). The First Irish Coin to have an inscription on the Edge " Éirí Amach na Cásca 1916", which translates as "1916 Easter Rising".  The first Irish Coin to feature anyone associated with Irish History or Politics. The first Irish commemorative coin issued by the Irish state. The reverse design featured Cu Chulainn, themythical Irish hero.
