An Extremely Rare Irish Hand Carved Bog Oak Book Slide Circa 1870.The sliding base with a double row leaf frieze decoration around the border with an Irish harp in an inner circle in the centre, surrounded by shamrock tracery enclosed by an outer circle.One of the folding bog oak bookends is carved with a leaf frieze border with enclosing trees and an ivy covered stone wall with gothic style windows modelled on the Kilmacduagh Monastery.The other folding bookend has a similar border displaying an Irish Round Tower .
