Exceptional Example of a French Patinated Bronze Figural Group of a Satyr and a Nymph” after Claude Michel Clodion (1738-1814) in dark patination offered complete with its original well grained Sienna Marble circular stepped base. Mid Nineteenth Century.

 

 

The kneeling Satyr on integral naturalistic base carrying on his shoulders an inebriated Nymph scantily draped in cloth.

 

 

Clodion popularized this subject and created a number of variation of the theme.

 

 

Condition: Superb untouched condition, with Foundry signature Jules Graux Fonderie.
