Rare Irish Hand Carved Bog Oak Book Slide of large proportions, mid Nineteenth Century.The sliding base with a double row leaf frieze decoration around the border with an Irish harp in an inner circle in the centre, surrounded by shamrock tracery enclosed by an outer circle. One of the folding bog oak bookends is carved with a leaf frieze border with crown on top enclosing trees and an ivy covered stone wall with gothic style windows modelled on the Kilmacduagh Monastery.
The other folding bookend has a similar border with crown on top displaying an Irish Woolfhound laying to one side of the Kilmaduagh Round Tower and in front of a harp modelled on the Brian Boru Harp of the Coat of Arms of Ireland.
