This is a superb Oil on Board by Cecil Maguire (1930-2020) - Depicting a scene from 'Old Clothes Market Clifden Galway'. The painting is signed lower right and signed and titled on the verso (now obscured). Maguire always shows a passion for the West of Ireland capturing scenes of Connemara landscapes, harbours, village scenes and horse fairs. His work is in such collections as The United Nations Headquarters, New York and The Ulster Museum, Belfast. He won the RUA Perpetual Gold Medal in 1993.
