993 Bronze Sculpture by Leon Bureau - The Lion Tamer - Signed

This IS a superb quality Bronze By Léon Bureau (1866-1906) French. Titled 'The Lion Tamer' it depicts a man in the process of taming a panther. Bureau was born in Limoges on September 17, 1866 and died in the same city on May 26, 1906. French School, student of the school of Fine arts workshop Falguière. Bureau is famed for his animal bronzes and is part of the Animalier Sculptors from the late 19th century. This is a very well cast bronze with beautiful detail and excellent Patina.
