Superb Painting by Marcel Dyf (1899-1985) Oil on Canvas 'Pecheurs a L'Etang'. Dyf came of age as an artist in Paris and the South of France during the 1920's and 30's, Marcel Dyf was naturally influenced by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists - which can be seen in his love of outdoor subjects and the light effects of water. However, Dyf also looked often to Rembrandt and Tiepolo which is evident with the reflections on the water. Dyf's pastoral scenes always portray an artist alive to the avant-garde. The Painting is beautifully framed and in very good condition.
