Fine Early to Mid Nineteenth Century French Ormolu Mantle Clock of outstanding Quality and compact proportions. Eight day duration silk suspension movement, striking the hours and half hours on a bell, with an outside countwheel.
The circular white enamel dial having blue Roman hour numerals, black outer Arabic five-minute markings, gilt –brass decorative hands. Signed Joseph Silvani, Paris and a further circular plaque reads “RAINGO FRERES PARIS”.
The Ormolu case with a central twin handle urn draped with floral swags. Two seated cherubs holding garlands of flowers, decorated with hand painted porcelain Sevres style inset plaques and raised on original beaded toupie feet.
Condition: Superb condition complete with pendulum and key. Original cushioned glass hinged door is present. Two old repairs to enamel, see image.
