These are a super Pair of Mahogany, Marble topped Pedestals with well cast Ormolu Mounts by the famed H.F. Jansen & Zonen, Amsterdam . The square Marble tops and Ormolu mounts are supported by 4 Mahogany supports with a platform base all raised on claw feet.The Jansen Name is of course associated with Maison Jansen from Paris and this company, seen as the first worldwide interior design firm designed for many famous homes including The White House in Washington when John F Kennedy was President. Maison Jansen also provided services to the royal families of Belgium, Iran and Serbia. By the early 1890s Maison Jansen had established its own manufacturing capacity producing furniture of contemporary design, as well as reproductions, primarily in the Empire styles.
