Rare Example of an English well grained Ladys or Gentlemans Flame Mahogany with Coromandel interior Travelling Writing Slope of generous proportions. Third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier.
The entire outer main area with lavish Mother of Pearl inlays depicting scrolls and flowers, other areas with inlay of exotic flying birds and swans in waters, opening to reveal a wonderful fitted complete interior and a later dark green leather with lavish gold leaf tooling.
Condition: Good condition, original good surface patination. Lock is present, key is lacking, a few tiny bumps here and there difficult to see. Brass screw capped glass inkwells are of a later date, underneath base has been replaced, very nicely done.
