417 Sold Grand Tour Classical Bronze Figure Infant Bacchus attrib. Egisto Rossi 19thCt

 

 

An Attractive Patinated Cast Bronze Figure of an Infant Bacchus kneeling on a naturalistic base, pouring wine from a vessel to a chalice, of outstanding quality and medium proportions, possibly after Egisto Rossi 1856-1916, third quarter of the Nineteenth Century, possibly earlier. 

This superb piece with stylish ormolu detail is raised on its rectangular base with very attractive ormolu supports.  

Condition: Good condition, no losses, nice surface patination, ormolu has been professionally re-gold plated and bronze patinated. 

 

Height: 11" (28cm). Width: (at widest) 8.25" (21cm). Depth: (at base) 4.25" (10.75cm).
