Fine and Rare Hand Carved Irish Bog Oak Figural Owl of Museum Quality and medium proportions, quite possibly by Cornelius Goggin. Made during the Mid Nineteenth Century.
The hinged head is complete with its original brown and black glass eyes.
The Owl is perched on a naturalistic base ending on an ornately carved circular stepped spreading support.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses anywhere, except for a tiny amount at both ear tips.
