François Bonvin (French 1817-1887) Oil on Canvas of Still life of Fruit. This is a superb example of this famed French Artists work and is in good condition and beautifully framed. The Painting is signed lower left. Bonvin painted still lifes and genre scenes characterized by a quiet, intimate, and meditative style and some of his paintings display a Pieter de Hooch's influence. This painting displays wonderfully the manner in which Bovin painted everyday objects and local scenes with delicately rendered light and shadow. Bonvin Paintings are sought after and I was fortunate to locate this one here in Dublin. Provenance is also very good with this Painting - Private Collection.
