They date to Circa 1875 and have a superb presence. They have the impressed factory name “WEDGWOOD” and are baluster in shape, decorated with ribbons of Garlands, floral festoons, full circle of Star Sign decoration and cameo styled medallions on each side featuring portraits of Venus and Neo Classical figures. These are a tour de force of Victoria Ware and bear all the hallmarks of the famed Charles Toft. Charles Toft (1832-1909) created these out of unglazed hard paste porcelain named by their rivals Minton Parian ware for the Greek island Paros that produces a white marble of the same name, they are laid on a spectacular Duke Blue/Charleston Green coloured ground. Shipping is expensive on these due to their fragility.

Height 11.25" (29.5cm) Item Sold
