The Pair are superb and are obviously Butlers but fortunately the Company Stamp remains on one after 115 years. They have octagonal tops with pierced gallery borders which are very fine in quality. The are raised on heavy reeded columns, triform wonderfully carved legs and finish with paw feet. These are wonderful pieces of rare Irish Furniture and I was lucky to spot then here in Dublin. We can be quite specific about the date as we know when Butlers were using this particular stamp.

Height 59" (150cm) Item Sold

Butlers - Between 1877 and 1884 he was listed at 29 Liffey Street; in 1885 at 127 Upper Abbey Street and listed there 1886-1903, described as an antique furniture warehouse; 1904-12 at 26, 126-28 Upper Abbey Street, listed as Michael Butler Ltd, Antique Galleries.Among Butler’s major patrons was the first Earl of Iveagh, for whom he supplied both old and new furniture for Farmleigh, Co. Dublin and Elveden, Norfolk. In 1910 Butler worked for Sir William Lever, later Lord Leverhulme.
