This beautiful Scupture is called <strong>'Accident de Chasse'</strong> (accident of the chase) and from one of the Art Deco's most famous sculptors. In Bronze and raised on a portoro marble base, it makes for a charming view at my Gallery. It is signed (on the bronze) and this is an&nbsp;<u>original piece</u>&nbsp;from Chiparus and referenced by&nbsp;Alberto Shayo. CHIPARUS Master of Art Deco. ACC Art Books 2019 page 238 #153. The quality of the casting is superb with excellent definition - a true masterpiece of the deco era. Dem&eacute;tre Chiparus, born as Dumitru Haralamb Chipărușin Dorohoi, Romania, was the son of Haralamb and Saveta Chiparus. In 1909 he went to Italy, where he attended the classes of Italian sculptor Raffaello Romanelli. In 1912 he traveled to Paris to attend the &Eacute;cole des Beaux Arts to pursue his art at the classes of Antonin Mercie and Jean Boucher. Dem&eacute;tre Chiparus died in 1947, suffering a stroke on returning from studying animals at the zoo in Vincennes.
