This <strong>Oil on Panel</strong> is a really wonderful depiction of Red Rum champion Thoroughbred steeplechaser with Brian Fletcher (RIP) as Jockey. He achieved an unmatched historic treble when he won the Grand National in 1973, 1974 and 1977, and also came second in the two intervening years, 1975 and 1976. Steve Burgess is famous for his Wildlife Paintings which sell Worldwide so it is an honour for me to have this piece of Art to offer for sale. The painting is framed and signed lower right.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong> Painting Dimensions - Height</strong> 15.7" (40cm) <strong>Width</strong> 11.8" (30cm) <strong>Item Sold</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;">Steve was born in 1961 in Bristol UK and currently resides in The UK</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Red Rum died on 18 October 1995</strong>, aged 30. His death was one of the lead items in television news bulletins and also made the front pages of national newspapers the next day. <sup id="cite_ref-BBCarticle_15-3" class="reference"></sup>He was buried at the winning post of the Aintree Racecourse which is still a destination for his fans.
