The Chest has a beautiful Patina with rich walnut veneer and internal Mahogany lined drawers. The lockable pilasters enclose seven graduated drawers and the condition is excellent. My master restorer polished this piece and remarked that it was one of the nicest Wellington Chest he ever worked on. We believe this piece is from the collection of The Boer War General, <strong>Sir</strong> <strong>Thomas Kelly-Kenny</strong>, the first Irish Catholic to be made a Lieutenant General in The British Army. Thomas Kelly-Kenny was born in Kilrush Co.
