Description
This is a rare Blanc de Chine sculpture by Chen Mingliang (Chinese b. 1963). Chen mastered the core “fast, accurate and fierce” techniques when it comes to the Dehua porcelain sculpture , and is swift and precise in grasping the shape and shaping the gods. His sculptures focus on the subtle treatment of expressions and body postures, coupled with a sharp hand in the practice of clothing patterns, and have a pure Dehua flowing and rounded style. This large piece is very impressive an superbly cast. This sculpture of an immortal or diety on a wave celebrates the success of Dehua heritage throughout China.
