319 Antique Victorian Casket Tortoiseshell Trinket Jewellery Regency Grand Tour 1840

Two Trinket or Jewelry Boxes of small proportions, both made during the first half of the Nineteenth Cenury, of English or French origin.

 Rectangular Box made entirely of dark Tortoiseshell which is beautifully carved on entire outside depicting flowers and lavish scrolling with ormolu mounts and hinged lid.

Width: 3” (7.75cm). Height: 1.5” Depth: 1.75 (4cm). Condition: Good allover condition, except for a hairline crack at one side, see image.

Oval Box made entirely of richly figured tortoiseshell with striking mottled pattern and reeded surface. Beautifully mounted with Sterling silver.

Width: 3.75” 9.5cm). Depth: 3.25” (8.5cm). Depth: 1.75” (4cm). Condition: Good allover condition with no losses, hinge is a little stiff.
