385 Antique Georgian Mahogany Satinwood Inlaid Jewelry Cigar Conch Shell Casket Box

 English Georgian Sheraton Period Flame Grain Mahogany Casket of Outstanding Quality and Workmanship and useful size. Circa 1780-90.  A very useful and quite rare item, wonderful gift suitable use includes Lady’s or Gentleman’s Jewelery storage box or perhaps a stunning Gentleman’s Cigar Box The hinged lid cross banded in satinwood, fabulously inlaid with a large central circular conch shell, the front area with similar inlaid decoration, all areas are decorated with satinwood stringing.  Condition: Good condition with nice patination and no losses. Lock is present, a later key is also present but does not activate the lock. The woven dark green fabric inside cover and main body has been later professionally replaced, very nicely done.
