408 Antique Vintage Black Forest German Book Slide Carved Irish – Shamrocks with Maple Leaf

Hand carved Swiss Black Forest very dark brown possibly Walnut wood (sometimes confused with Irish Bog Oak from Ireland) foldable Bookslide of exceptional quality and traditional form. Mid to late Nineteenth Century.  Each hinged folding flap profusely hand carved depicting a Maple Leaf with vine surrounds. The main base with similar decoration to include twin borders of three leaf Irish Shamrocks. Condition: Good firm condition with nice surface patination, professionally cleaned and re-polished. No evidence of and carving losses, possibly never used.
