Description
This is a large and Impressive novelty Solid Silver inkwell in the form of a bell. It has a plain finish with a hinged top which is set with an angular handle. It comes with a good-fitting clear glass liner. This piece is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1912 with the maker’s mark of A & J Zimmerman. This inkwell is in good condition with just a few minor marks consistent with age. The original leather base has some marks consistent with age but overall in good condition – There were various sizes of this novelty bell made and I believe this one to be the largest.
