Lovely example of an identical pair of boxed heavy gauge Sterling Silver Scottish Centerpieces of exceptional quality.
The stylish oval form crested dishes with lavish pierced decoration to main body and foot depicting foliage and flowers, raised on a separate attached base with similar detailing. Mark of R & W Sorley. Hallmark Scottish Glasgow 1900. William Sorley & William Steele trading as R & W Sorley, St Vincent Street & Renfield Street, Glasgow, also at Buchanan Street, Glasgow & Argyle Street, Glasgow. Condition: Good condition for such early pieces with no losses anywhere, nice surface patination allover. Original box closes firmly, has tiny evidence of age wear. Stunning red silk fabric interior is perfect.
