This is a very Rare and Superbly made Silver Cased Compensated Weather Barometer – The Silver Assay Marks inform us that it was made in 1900 by the famed Silversmith, Alfred Clark who at that time worked from 33 New Bond Street, London. Alfred Clark was Silversmith to The Prince of Wales. This wonderful Barometer was made for The Prince of Wales in 1900 as it bears The George V initials and Prince of Wales Coronet. ‘E. G. Barrow 1911’ refers to General Sir Edmund George Barrow (1852–1934), a senior British Indian Army officer who served as the Aide-de-Camp General to King George V from 1911 to 1912.
