Description
This is a lovely Painting titled ‘Searching for Honey’ by the famed Irish Artist, Barry Castle (1935–2006). Barry was an Irish Artist and illustrator renowned for her vivid and fantastical paintings. Trained at the National College of Art, Dublin, she developed a luminous, layered painting technique under her husband, artist Philip Castle. Born in Dublin, she was the daughter of novelist and playwright Maura Laverty. She studied at the National College of Art (NCAD) under Seán Keating and others. She illustrated her mother Maura Laverty’s books and exhibited at the Portal Gallery, London.
