Description
Stylish and Imposing Pair of French Two Light Table or Mantle Sevres style Porcelain and Ormolu Candelabra of outstanding quality. Mid-Nineteenth Century, firmly attributed to Edme Samson of Paris 1810-1891.
Each central support depicts a hand painted feathered bird standing on a naturalistic base above a highly ornated rococo style ormolu base. One bird modelled as a Bee-Eater, the other as a Golden Oriel. The ormolu branches with applied painted porcelain flowers below very decorative sconces.
Condition: Superb condition complete with original ormolu with no wear to gilding, a few tiny, tiny flea bite losses to flower petals. Mark as shown, see image.
