879 Antique Vintage Ladys Bog Oak German Jewelery Box Casket Carved Pheasants Birds

 Hand carved German Black Forest (sometimes confused with Irish Bog Oak from Ireland) Lady’s or Gentleman’s Jewelry Casket of oval outline. Mid to late Nineteenth Century. The slightly dome shaped hinged lid is lavishly decorated on top depicting Pheasants birds mating on a naturalistic base. The all round sides carved depicting scrolling leaves, ending on a decorative spreading base. “Beautiful and stylish offering for a collector offers multible use for Him or Her. Condition: Good condition with nice surface patination, professionally cleaned and re-polished. Lock is present and working but key is a replacement and does not turn lock. Small loss to one of birds wings, base has been replaced which is nicely done.
