Neoclassical Bronze Roundel Plaque of Irish interest, superbly cast in high relief, complete with its original cream marble frame surround. Depicting the seated goddess Demeter, goddess of the Harvest & Agriculture, holding a flame torch and surrounded by farm workers. Last half of the Nineteenth Century. Bronze oval plaque at rear reads: BY ROYAL COMMISSION TO CELEBRATE DUKE & DUTCHESS OF DEVONSHIRE 25th ANNIVERSARY. E. W. WYON. Condition: Good condition with nice patination to well-cast figures, no losses anywhere, marble surround is perfect, wonderful gift.
