French Sevres Soft Paste Porcelain and Ormolu Twin Handle Table or Mantle Urn of traditional form and of outstanding quality, and good size proportions, raised on a square stepped base with canted corners.
The twin handles exquisitely modelled as Satyrs. The central front reserve depicting a Courting Couple in Eighteenth Century dress in landscape, back view with still life scene of Summer Flowers on a rich cobalt blue ground. Each firm fitting cover with Acanthus and Acorn finial and similar hand paintings.
Second quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses to porcelain, bronze mounts have been professionally re-gold plated.
