This Painting by Charles Hunt (1803-1877) is a charming and typical of his work where he specilised in light hearted studies of children in rural English scenes. This Oil on Canvas is signed lower right and has the original frame. It is entitled 'The Half Holiday'. Hunt wast the patriarch of a highly talented family of Artists to include Edgar and William. Charles Hunt paintings were exhibited at The Royal Academy from 1862 and this painting is dated 1866.
